History behind the Frank Family…
The Fornaca family has a long history in San Diego California that dates back to 1912 when Mario Fornaca and his brother purchased a local French bread bakery. Several years later Mario and his wife purchased the bakery and operated it for many years along with their three children, Louisa, Felice and Frank. In 1952, Frank and Felice became the owners and managed the company as it continued to grow and oversaw the increase in its product line that included providing private label items for Fed Mart department stores.
In 1965, Frank and Felice purchased a Lincoln/Mercury dealership in National City. That same year a Toyota franchise was awarded to them and until a new facility was built, Toyotas were sold at the Lincoln/Mercury dealership. Frank Motors Group added the Hyundai franchise in 1986 and in 1990’s the Lincoln/Mercury franchise was bought back by Ford. In 2003, Frank Scion was opened and the third generation of Fornaca’s and Fenelli’s became the owners and operators of Frank Motors Group. The most recent addition to Frank Motors is Frank AutoPro’s which was opened on July 5, 2010. Specializing is pre-owned vehicles and service for most makes and models, Frank AutoPro’s is a welcome addition to Frank Motors Group which includes Frank Toyota, Frank Hyundai, Frank Scion and now Frank AutoPro’s. All the Frank dealerships are conveniently located just minutes away from downtown San Diego in National City on the Mile of Cars.
This year Frank celebrates its 45th Anniversary and its time to reflect on our past accomplishments, look forward to new challenges and thank those who have allowed us to serve them- our customers. Thank you for your continued patronage of our business, without you, we would not be here.
